A little history:
Mattea Weinberg is a New York born illustrator and K-12 Art Educator. She is currently teaching In Burlington, Massachusetts. Mattea moved to South Carolina during her adolescence before attending the Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine for a BFA in illustration and a minor in Public Engagement. She then continued her education earning an MAT for arts in education.
Her practice focuses on documentation, pattern making, and reportage. She remains extremely interested in ethnography and relationships between objects. Her usual medium is watercolor and ink, but she is not afraid to add gouache or colored pencil.
While not inking or painting, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and cuddling with her nineteen-year-old cat.
